Cosmetic or dermatological skin treating agent comprises a carrier, and at least a photocatalytically effective metal oxide as an active agent against acne and unclean skin. An independent claim is included for a procedure for the non-therapeutic, cosmetic treatment of the skin, comprising applying the agent on the skin, preferably face skin, which is the skin of neckline, back, acne and/or unclean skin.
