A method and an apparatus for acquiring a color temperature point are provided to solve a problem that measurement and comparison should be performed repeatedly to reach a color temperature point, much time is consumed, and accurate results can be hardly obtained. A signal generator(74) generates particular patterns to be inputted to a color display device. An optical sensor(71) senses images on the color display device. A color analyzer(72) acquires the image of the color display device and is connected to the optical sensor to measure color information of the color display device. A computer(73) is connected with the color analyzer to acquire the color information and includes a processor and a memory. The memory has a program executable by the processor to perform searching coordinates of the brightest color temperature point, providing a target isotemperature line on a two-dimensional chromaticity diagram, and calculating coordinates of a new color temperature point.
