PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device having a plurality of video input ports which enables a user to recognize the presence of a new video input without disturbing video being viewed by the user and to easily switch to the new video input. SOLUTION: The video display device includes a plurality of video input ports 11, 12, and 13, a plurality of video signal detecting means 14, 15, and 16 of detecting whether there are video signals at the respective video ports, a video signal output switching means 17 of switching and selecting the video signals input from the plurality of video input ports, a video signal display means 18 of displaying a video signal selected by the video signal output switching means 17, and a video signal input state display means 19 for displaying detection results of the video signal detecting means outside a picture of the video signal displayed by the video signal display means 18.
