PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compact a clutch unit by lessening the axial dimension. SOLUTION: The clutch unit comprises a lever-side clutch 11 provided at the input side to control transmitting/intercepting the rotational torque to the output side by lever operation, and a brake side clutch 12 provided at the output side to transmit the input torque from the lever-side clutch 11 to the output side and intercept the reverse input torque from the output side. The lever-side clutch 11 comprises an inside centering spring 18 to accumulate elastic force by the input torque, and return a retainer 17 to a neutral state by the accumulated elastic force by releasing the input torque, and an outside centering spring 19 to accumulate elastic force by the input torque, and return the lever-side outer ring 14 to the neutral state by the accumulated elastic force by releasing the input torque. The inside centering spring 18 is disposed at the inside-diameter side of the outside centering spring 19 disposed at the outside-diameter side of the lever-side outer ring 14, and formed of a cross sectional round wire rod.
