PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition capable of maintaining a function as a member for confirming a relative positional relationship between a rotation phase of a crank sprocket and a rotation phase of a cam sprocket as a function of a mass damper even while covering a mass damper attached to one end of a crankshaft by cover, with respect to an internal combustion engine not using a belt drive system for auxiliary machine driving. SOLUTION: The damper cover 7 covering the mass damper 6 is attached to an outer face of a chain cover 5. An opening 75 is formed in an upper end of the damper cover 7 to allow visual confirmation of a timing mark 61 formed on the mass damper 6 from the exterior. A drain outlet 76 is formed in a lower end of the drain cover 7 to provide easy discharge of rainwater or the like intruding into the damper cover 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
