PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a hydrogen storage material containing lithium hydride LiH and lithium amide LiNH<SB>2</SB>capable of suppressing lowering of a hydrogen release amount by preventing aggregation of particles after applying mechanical energy such as crushing. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of hydrogen storage material comprises: a process S101 of preparing a raw material composition containing carbon material particles, metal hydride particles and metal amide particles; and a process S103 of applying the mechanical energy to the raw material composition.
