The ship (1) has a cavity (3) provided at a rear-side of the ship. The cavity takes up a variable-pitch propeller of an engine. The propeller has a hub body (5) that carries a set of blade bearing plates, which are supported in a wall of the body and carries a propeller blade (7). A fluid media connection engages within a rear-sided area of the hub body at a connecting rod (8), plate (9), piston rod (10), piston (11) and cylinder (12). A hydraulic line (15) is provided for supplying fluid media to the connecting rod, plate, piston rod, piston and cylinder in an ice spur (4).
