<p>A system (100) for removing odorous air from a toilet bowl (10) into a sewer line (26) includes a toilet seat (110) defining a plurality of air inlets (115) spaced apart along a bottom side (114a) and an air outlet (117) at a rear side (112b) with an internal channel connecting the air inlets (115) and outlet (117). The system (100) includes an air pump (120) suitable for mounting to a rear of the toilet (10) for connection to the toilet seat (110) with tubing (130). A pressure sensor (152) on the seat (110) actuates the pump (120) to draw air through the inlets (115) to the pump (120) upon sensing the pressure of a user thereon. Additional tubing (130) extends from the pump (120) through the toilet wax ring (180) for exhausting the air into a sewer line (20). A check valve (128) on the additional tubing prevents return of sewer gas into the system (100).</p> |
