<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which uses vertically-aligned liquid crystal, wherein the liquid crystal display is improved in color balance among respective colors and has superior color reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of colored layers (22R, 22G, and 22B) of mutually different colors corresponding to a plurality of dot regions (D1, D2, and D3) are provided, and an alignment restricting means 18 is formed in each dot region.
