<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel, wherein the uniformity of the viewing angle in both vertical and horizontal directions is high and the cost related to the polarizer is low. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel 100 has a first polarizer 21, a second polarizer 22 and a liquid crystal cell 10, wherein the liquid crystal cell 10 comprises liquid crystal molecules in a twisted nematic alignment; the first polarizer 21 is disposed on the display surface side of the liquid crystal cell 10, and the second polarizer 22 is disposed on the rear side of the liquid crystal cell 10. Furthermore, the liquid crystal panel 100 is characterized in that it has a first O plate 31, a second O plate 32, a first optical compensation layer 41, and a second optical compensation layer 42; the liquid crystal cell 10 has a rectangular shaped surface, and the first polarizer 21 and the second polarizer 22 are disposed in such a way that their absorption axes are nearly parallel or perpendicular to an edge of the rectangle of the surface shape of the liquid crystal cell 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
