PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aligning apparatus of pole plate groups for lead-acid batteries and an aligning method of pole plate groups for lead-acid batteries capable of easily aligning the pole plate groups for lead-acid batteries with a simple apparatus. SOLUTION: The aligning apparatus B aligns pole plate groups for lead-acid batteries, where a plurality of positive electrode plates and a plurality of negative electrode plates are laminated by interposing a separator 10 between them. The aligning apparatus comprises: a thickness direction position regulation section 20 for regulating the positions of the pole plate groups in a thickness direction; and a pole plate group alignment section C for aligning the pole plate groups. The thickness direction position regulation section comprises a pair of thickness direction position regulation plates 21. The pole plate group alignment section comprises: an ear position regulation section 30 for regulating the position of the ear of the pole plate; a lower position regulation section 50 for regulating the lower position of the pole plate; a foot position regulation section 60 for regulating the foot of the pole plate; and a separator regulation section for regulating the horizontal and vertical positions of the separator.
