PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that micro fluid flows accidentally inside a pipe of a biochip of a micro fluid device when installing the micro fluid on a heat absorbing/heating area inside the pipe and applying a temperature cycle thereto. SOLUTION: This micro fluid device has the biochip on which the pipe with the heat absorbing/heating area for accommodating the micro fluid is formed, a main temperature control element installed on the heat absorbing/heating area of the pipe, and a subsidiary temperature control element installed at a place outside the heat absorbing/heating area of the pipe. The wall surface of the pipe is made hydrophilic; the subsidiary temperature control element heats the pipe up to a temperature higher than that of the heat absorbing/heating area, and the interfacial tension of the micro fluid at the place of the subsidiary temperature control element is made smaller than that of the heat absorbing/heating area. Accordingly, the micro fluid is pushed back to the heat absorbing/heating area when the micro fluid flows accidentally. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
