An apparatus and a method for controlling vibration of a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to feel a different vibration size according to each touched position in a tactile manner. An input unit(40) receives a command for adjusting a vibration strength. A controller(20) selects a vibration motor corresponding to coordinates to which the command has been inputted, and controls the strength of the selected vibration motor according to the size of the position of the coordinates. A vibration unit(50) includes the first to fourth vibration motors(52,54,56,58). The input unit includes a touch screen, a touch pad and a keypad. A memory(30) stores the vibration motors according to coordinates of the inputted command and a value indicating the vibration strength of the vibration motor. The input unit is divided into regions corresponding to the number of the vibration motors of the vibration unit.
