A flat sheet of material, with a profiled opening, is formed into a beverage can lid (also termed a top, closure or end) 2, to fit on a carbonated a non carbonated beverage can body 3. A threaded, spouted insert 4, and screw cap 5 is permanently fixed into said profiled opening. The screw cap 5 is removed by a twisting action 6, thereby also breaking the "pilfer proof" seal I. Closing and sealing said cap is the reverse action, thereby preserving any remaining beverage in the can, eliminating potential spillage, retaining carbonation (if any) and preventing ingression of foreign matter. E.g. insects. The screw cap may be convex to allow beverage cans to be stacked one on top of each other. |
