Avoiding problems caused by base line drift in sensor based measurements. Instead of measuring a signal increase in a detection space measurements in sensor based detection is performed by enriching the detectable product (analyte), allowing a specific period of time to elapse (enrichment phase) and then measuring a first detection signal and then measuring the base line signal as a second detection signal only after flushing out the detection space and removing the enriched product. The detection of the enriched product is consequently brought about not by a signal increase relative to a base line, but by a signal difference between the first and second detection signal. This method may be applied, for example, to measurements performed using an electrochemical sensor. |
