摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate writing delay of data at a low gradation level. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel circuit 10 is provided with a driving transistor T<SB>r</SB>5 which supplies driving current to an organic EL element 12 that is connected to a current output terminal, a holding capacitor C<SB>r</SB>which applies a prescribed voltage corresponding to accumulated electric charges to a current control terminal of the transistor T<SB>r</SB>5 and a capacitive element C<SB>s</SB>which transmits a voltage change supplied from a variable voltage source V<SB>dd</SB>to the current control terminal through capacitive coupling. The capacitor C<SB>r</SB>drives the transistor T<SB>r</SB>5 by applying the prescribed voltage corresponding to the accumulated electric charges to the current control terminal and urges to supply a driving current to the element 12 through a light emitting interval whose time length is beforehand set corresponding to gradation display. On the other hand, the element C<SB>s</SB>stops the supply of the driving current to the element 12 by applying the voltage change outputted from the voltage source V<SB>dd</SB>to the current control terminal through capacitive coupling after the light emitting interval is passed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
