<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent gas from leakage from a spherical joint by applying no offset load on compression coil spring for compressing and connecting an upper side and a lower side flange sandwiching an annular seal body but in the compressed direction so as to improve the durability of the compression coil spring, and by setting a preset load of the compressed coil spring highly, in a spherical joint for connecting an upstream side exhaust pipe and a downstream side exhaust pipe of an engine for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In the spherical joint, an annular seal body 10 is arranged between one side and the other side connecting flanges 8 and 9, both the flanges 8 and 9 are loosely board with a joint bolt 14, a compression coil spring 16 is arranged between a nut 15 engaged with the bolt 14 and the other side flange 9, and both the flanges 8 and 9 are closely placed into contact by an elastic repulsion of the spring 16.
