A battery cover grounding device of a portable terminal is provided to connect a battery cover to a grounding surface provided on the terminal while the battery cover closes a battery groove, thereby preventing leakage current as realizing stable operation of the terminal. A battery cover(201) is made of a metal material. A grounding member is connected with a grounding surface of a terminal by being mounted on the terminal, and is contacted with the battery cover. The grounding member consists of a cover projection(221) formed on the battery cover, and a grounding projection(223) contacted with the cover projection by being attached to the terminal. An insulated material is applied to the battery cover. A portion of the insulated material is removed, and the cover projection is protruded through the removed part of the insulated material.
