A dianhydride having phosphine oxide is provided to show improved characteristics such as solubility, adhesiveness, glass transition temperature, and heat-stability. A polyimide composition is provided to be formed from the dianhydride and a diamine compound. A compound for a polyimide film is represented by the formula(1) of [4-(diphenylphosphine oxide)phenyl]pyromellitic dianhydride. A polyimide composition consisting of dianhydride having phosphine oxide and diamine is represented by the formula(2), wherein Ar is bis(3-aminophenyl)phenyl phosphine oxide(where n is from 23-43), bis-(3-aminophenyl)-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl phosphine oxide(where n is from 19-39), 3,5-bis-(3-aminophenyl)-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl phosphine oxide(where n is from 17-37) or 4,4'-oxydianiline(where n is from 27-47).
