The apparatus has a converter for detecting a motion vector from externally input source data, and converting a frame of an input image of the source data into conversion frames. The converter filters the images of the conversion frames according to the vector, and generates modulated data. A gate driver supplies a scan signal to gate lines (GL1 - GLn) and a data driver converts the modulated data into an analog video signal and supplies the video signal to data lines (DL1 - DLm). A timing controller generates data and gate control signals to control the data and gate drivers respectively. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for driving a liquid crystal display device having an image display unit for displaying an image (2) a converter for a driver driving a liquid crystal display device comprising a gamma correcting unit for gamma-correcting input. |
