<p>There is provided a detector for detecting a layer short of a field winding (6) in operation by measuring, with a field detector (14), a magnetic field generated from a field winding (6) of an electric rotating machine. In the present invention, a field detector (14) is installed outside an electric rotating machine to measure a leakage flux (8) at the installation point to detect layer short by detecting the increase in a leakage flux (8) at an occurrence of a layer short of a field winding (6) or asymmetry of waveform of leakage flux thereof, simplifying installation and enabling installation without halting operations of an electric rotating machine.</p> |
