A structure of a mechanical pencil is provided to insert a lead into a cap automatically by moving up the lead in pushing a knob formed at the upper part of a sleeve for a while and releasing the knob, and then fitting the lead into the cap. In a structure of a mechanical pencil(1), leads are received in a sleeve(30) inserted into a mechanical pencil pipe(10) and supported by a spring(32). The lead passing through a chuck(33) is projected through a lower cap(20) of the mechanical pencil pipe, while the chuck combined with a lower support pipe of the sleeve is widened outward or puckered by a combining piece(11) joined with the cap in pushing a knob(40) combined with the upper part of the sleeve. A stop ring(50) is combined with the inner center of the cap. A first fitting ring(51) is inserted into and movably installed in a space part formed at the lower part of the stop ring. A second fitting ring is inserted into a guide groove formed between the combining piece and the chuck. The upward movement of the second fitting ring is controlled by a sill formed in the combining piece. An operating pipe(34) is fitted to the sleeve. The downward movement of the operating pipe is controlled by a protruded sill of the sleeve and the upward movement is controlled by combining a stopper(35) fitted with the knob, to the upper part of the sleeve. The chuck moves downward together with the second fitting ring while fixing the lead, by pushing the protruded sill shortly according to the movement of the operating pipe by the operating pipe and the lead is projected to the lower part of the cap. The chuck is inserted into the first fitting ring through the stop ring by pushing the knob long and the lead is fixed. The projected lead is reversely inserted into the cap by moving up the chuck and the first fitting ring through the space part by return force of the spring in releasing the knob. |
