COMMUNICATION APPARATUS USING CHAOTIC SIGNAL AND METHOD THEREOF

A communication apparatus using a chaotic signal and a communication method thereof are provided to realize a short distance radio communication system with low cost and low power by using a non-coherent type using a threshold value varied according to a property of a received carrier signal. A communication apparatus using a chaotic signal includes a correlator(165), a transmission signal generating unit(163), and an antenna(100). The correlator multiplies source data by one code of an optical orthogonal code and a prime sequence code, and outputs a transmission data. The transmission signal generating unit performs a masking of a chaotic signal to the transmission data using an OOK(On-Off Keying) modulation method and generates a chaotic transmission signal having an RF(Radio Frequency) type. The antenna transmits the chaotic transmission signal.
