An apparatus and a method for treating wastewater are provided to perform alternative aeration in an upper portion and a lower portion within a wastewater reactor, by using a middle layer-level air line and a lower layer-level air line installed within the wastewater reactor and blowers for respectively supplying air to the middle layer-level air line and the lower layer-level air line. A wastewater reactor(10) has an inlet(11) and an outlet(12). A middle layer-level air line(20) is disposed at a middle height within the wastewater reactor. The middle layer-level air line has a plurality of air holes(21) formed in a surface thereof. A first blower(40) communicates with the middle layer-level air line to supply air. A lower layer-level air line(30) is disposed at a lower portion within the wastewater reactor. The lower layer-level air line has a plurality of air holes(31) formed in a surface thereof. A second blower(50) communicates with the lower layer-level air line to supply air. A media-holding layer(60) is disposed above the middle layer-level air line. The media-holding layer supports media(61), onto which microorganisms are fixed. A precipitating bath communicates with the outlet of the wastewater reactor. Further, a shape of the media is net. |
