<p>Lathe comprises a vertical workpiece spindle (10), and a tool holder arranged in a working space below the workpiece spindle and moved along a vertical axis. The workpiece spindle is moved along a horizontal axis between a working position, in which it lies above the tool holder, and a loading/unloading station in which the workpiece is loaded into/unloaded from a clamping chuck. Preferred Features: The loading/unloading station has at least one lifting device which lifts the workpiece from a transport path (21) or a pallet and inserts it into or removes it from the clamping chuck.</p> |
