<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical amusement system that enables even a beginner who can not understand a musical score to easily enjoy playing an electronic musical instrument. <P>SOLUTION: In the musical amusement system, each note is characterized in the shape of an apple or the like in accordance with performance data, and displayed on a display screen of a display corresponding to a plurality of operation means respectively and scrolled in a prescribed direction. A line L2 indicating the current performing position is displayed on the screen. Based on the relation between the timing of the character reaching the line L2 indicating the current performing position and the timing to operate the operation means corresponding to the character, the performer's operation of the operation means is evaluated and the evaluation result is displayed.
