A non-aqueous electrolyte is provided to form a coating layer having excellent properties by causing a reduction decomposition reaction at an electrode when carbonyl bislactam is used as an additive for an electrolyte of a lithium secondary battery. A non-aqueous electrolyte comprises (i) a carbonyl bislactam, (ii) an organic solvent including a cyclic carbonate and/or a linear carbonate, and (iii) an electrolytic salt. The carbonyl bislactam has a structure represented by the following formula 1, wherein R^1 to R^12 independently are hydrogen, halogen, C1-6 alkyl, or C1-6 haloalkyl, and n and m independently are an integer of 0-13. The carbonyl bislactam is contained in an amount of 0.05-10 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the organic solvent. |
