An auto blocker is provided to reduce an error in measuring optical characteristic of a lens by using a detecting optical system with a minute lens array structure where lenses are mounted in four pin holes of a hole plate, respectively. An auto blocker comprises a light source(71), a fixing plate(65), an image forming plate(70), an image-forming optical system(80) and a detecting optical system(90). The light source emits measuring light for inspecting a test lens(5). The fixing plate fixes the test lens to the path of the measuring light. The image forming plate forms a shadow image of the test lens formed by the measuring lens. The imaging optics system detects the shadow image formed in the image forming plate. The detecting optical system detects optical characteristics of the lens from the measuring light passing through the test lens.
