A vacuum cleaner is provided to prevent a filter of a filter assembly from blocking and improve efficiency of separating in fine dust by forming the filter assembly with a separate member from a dust collection device. A vacuum cleaner comprises a suction motor(20), a dust collection device(30), and a filter assembly(40). The suction motor sucks impurities through a suction nozzle into a main body of the vacuum cleaner. The dust collection device places the impurities sucked into the main body of the vacuum cleaner and has a vent for ventilating air. The filter assembly, such as a separate member from the dust collection device, capable of detaching from the main body, which is placed on a ventilation passage between the dust collection device and the suction motor, has a case, a cover, a first filter, and a second filter. The filter assembly is also connected to the lower part of the dust collection device. The dust collection device mounted on a placing part horizontally protruded to the front part of the main body and the filter assembly mounted on a recess are connected to each other.
