摘要 A carrier structure for exhaust gas purification having a coating part formed on carriers is provided to prevent starting of an automobile from being stopped when one sides of carriers are blocked by deposits of exhaust gas or alien substances generated in the carrier preparation process, and prevent the formation of irregularities on the one sides of the carriers when the exhaust gas or alien substances pass through a plurality of cells, and a manufacturing method of the carrier structure is provided. In an exhaust gas purification device in which a plurality of cells(32) are formed at inner sides of carriers(31) to purify exhaust gas exhausted from an automobile, a carrier structure for exhaust gas purification having coating parts formed on carriers is characterized in that coating parts(13) are formed on one sides of the carriers to prevent erosion of the one sides of the carriers or clogging of the cells due to iron oxide particles or small carrier fragments. The coating parts are formed by dipping the one sides of the carriers into a solution comprising limes or talcs as a principal material and firing the one sides of the carriers coated with the solution to a heat with a temperature of 1200 deg.C or more. The coating parts are formed in such a shape that front faces of the coating parts are curved. The carriers each has a coating part with a thickness of 1 to 5 mm formed thereon.
