A game system is provided to offer a multi-player game by connecting a portable game machine and a home theater environment, which comprises a large screen and a multi-channel speaker, through a stand. A game system comprises a portable game machine(100) charged by receiving power from a stand(200), a display device(300) displaying a game screen, speakers(400) outputting background music of a game, the stand, and controllers(500) operated as a game operation tool. The stand is linked with the portable game machine, and provides game data, or transmits an output signal to the display device or the speaker. The stand includes a hard or optical disk slot, and communicates with the portable game machine through an A/V(Audio/Video) interface like an HDMI(High Definition Multimedia Interface). The portable game machine and the stand communicate with an external hard disk, or the hard or optical disk embedded in the stand through a high speed serial interface. The portable game machine executes a game program stored in the external hard disk, the hard or optical disk embedded in the stand, or a storage device embedded in the portable game machine. |
