A method for confirming modification of a sent message in a mobile communication terminal and the mobile communication terminal for performing the method are provided to offer more detailed information on delivery results of a sent message to a user of a sending mobile communication terminal, and to share information on message distortion, thereby providing an efficient message service to a user. A sending mobile communication terminal receives a delivery report(S510). A data processor of the sending terminal parses the delivery report to confirm whether an 'Adaptation' field exists within the delivery report(S520). If so, the data processor confirms a field value within the 'Adaptation' field(S540), and provides detailed information on modification of a message meant by the field value to a controller. The controller displays the detailed information on the modification of the message on a display(S550).
