PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING PUERARIA RADIX EXTRACT

An extract of Pueraria Radix is provided to inhibit lipid peroxidation at hearing cells induced by cisplatin and remove reactive oxygen species such as superoxide radicals directly, thereby inhibiting the hearing cell toxicity caused by the cisplatin and protecting damaged hearing cells by the cisplatin. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inner ear damage caused by cisplatin comprises an extract of Pueraria Radix as an effective ingredient, wherein the extract is obtained by using a solvent selected from the group consisting of C1-4 alcohol, water and a mixture thereof and the inner ear damage is tinnitus and hearing impairment.
