A method of software update of a digital television is provided to enable a user to watch the television even when performing a writing operation of the flash memory and a buffering operation, by designing separately flash memory unit in mirror type and performing the buffering in a specified channel including update data of the software of a DVB module. A method of software update of a digital television is made up of a tuner(10), a switch unit(20), an analog decoder(30), a display unit(40), a digital decoder(50), a flash memory unit(60) and an SDRAM unit(70). The tuner receives analog broadcasting signals or digital broadcasting signal and transmits the broadcasting signals to the switch unit. The switch unit switches the broadcasting signals received from the tuner according to a control signal between an analog decoder and a digital decoder. The digital decoder buffers information extracted by an OAD(Over Air Download) mode from the digital broadcasting signals into the SDRAM unit even when a user watches the television. At this time, the digital decoder displays the buffering status on a part of a screen as the OSD through the analog decoder.
