A remote control transmitter capable of controlling a plurality of light fittings without a slidable switch is provided to set channels on the basis of a period of time while pressing an operation button or a setting button, thereby switching the channels without a switch necessary for slidable operation. A memory(10) stores data indicating plural control signals for each channel corresponding to light fittings respectively. A measurer(7) calculates a period of time during which an operation button(6) is pressed on the basis of a detected event which begins when the operation button is pressed and ends when the operation button is released and outputs a signal indicating the calculated period of time as a measured period of time. A transmitter(9) outputs a control signal on the basis of the data stored in the memory. A controller(8) sets one of the channels on the basis of the signal outputted from the measurer and controls the transmitter to output a control signal on the basis of the data stored in the memory in relation to the set channel.
