A catalytic converter apparatus for exhaust gas of a vehicle is provided to reduce costs by re-utilizing a part of a mat and eliminating expensive members including a retainer and a metal wire. A catalytic converter apparatus for exhaust gas of a vehicle, includes a catalyst, a mat(20), a shell, an inlet unit, and an outlet unit. The catalyst purifies exhaust gas. The mat is arranged to cover the catalyst. The shell accommodates the catalyst and the mat. The inlet unit and the outlet unit are formed at the shell so as to introduce exhaust gas and discharge purified gas to a muffler. A first mat(21) and a second mat(25) are connected through a connector(23) which interconnects centers of the first mat and the second mat. The first mat and the second mat have respective connection pieces(21a,25a) and connection recesses(21b,25b).
