摘要 A porous negative electrode active material, a method for preparing the active material, a negative electrode containing the active material, and a lithium battery containing the negative electrode are provided to reduce the stress generated by the difference of rate of expansion of carbon-based and a metallic active material in case of charge/discharge. A porous negative electrode active material comprises a metallic microparticle capable of forming an alloy with lithium; a crystalline carbon-based material; and a porous carbon-based material which coats and binds the metallic microparticle and the crystalline carbon-based material, wherein the pore of the porous negative electrode active material has a bimodal size distribution represented by two pore diameter peaks in the BJH (Berrett-Joyner-Halenda) pore size distribution. Preferably the pore has a first peak of 1-10 nm and a second peak of 10-100 nm.
