LED DEVICE HAVING LIGHT REFLECTION PATTERNS AT THE BACK

An LED device having light reflection patterns at a rear side thereof is provided to significantly improve a light emitting efficiency by minimizing the loss of the light in a molding portion. An LED chip(10) is adapted to emit light from a light emitting layer or active layer which is interposed between a p-type semiconductor layer and an n-type semiconductor layer. The LED chip is attached to a chip support member(20) by a transparent adhesive having good heat conduction. The chip support member is a lead frame or lead electrode for applying a power in an LED device, or a heat sink for irradiating the heat generated from the LED in other LED package structure. The chip support member has a reflective portion for reflecting the light incident from the LED chip, and the reflective portion is subjected to an etch process to form a light reflection pattern(22).
