An organism observing apparatus enabling reduction of the time required to observe an object in the organism. The apparatus comprises illuminating means having one or more semiconductor light-emitting elements for emitting illuminating lights with which the object is illuminated, imaging means for imaging the object illuminated with the illuminating lights and outputting the imaging signal, color decomposing means for decomposing the image of the object into red, green, and blue components, and image processing means for performing a predetermined processing of the image signal outputted by the imaging means and outputting a video signal used for displaying the image of the object on display means. The predetermined processing of the image processing means is color conversion in such a way that the blue component of the image signal is converted into a green component of the video signal and the green component of the image signal into a red component of the video signal. ® KIPO & WIPO 2008
