A character input method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable a user to input overall consonants and vowels by selecting number keys at least two times, while various fonts are provided in character input mode, thereby improving the user's convenience when the user inputs characters as enabling the characters to be displayed in desired font of the user. More than one font is provided in character input mode(S11-S15). A user selects a desired font among the provided fonts(S17). An inputted character is displayed by using the selected font(S19). When the fonts are provided, each font and number keys for selecting the fonts are displayed on a display together. When the fonts are provided, font names or types of each font are provided. More than one piece of color information is provided before or after the font is selected, so that color information selected by the user is reflected on the displayed character.
