Disclosed is a compound of formula (I), wherein Z is a chain of n alpha-amino acid residues, n being the integer 12, 14 or 18, and the positions of said amino acid residues in said chain being counted starting from the N-terminal amino acid, whereby these amino acid residues are as defined in the specification; and the remainder of formula (I) is represented by one of (a1) and (a2), wherein A-CO is DPro, DGln, 4-{2-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy}-acetylamino}-DPro, or Gly; B-CO is LPro, LGln, 4-{2-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy}-acetylamino}-LPro, but A-CO and B-CO cannot both be Gly. The compounds are useful for the treatment of HIV infections, cancer or immunological diseases.
