A bell mode setting system, an MS and an operation method thereof are provided to enable a current bell mode of the MS to be switched into an assigned bell signal automatically when the MS is positioned in a registered virtual area, thereby providing convenience in use as damage is not caused to other persons by noise. An MS(Mobile Station)(110) receives GPS(Global Positioning System) location information, sets a virtual area by the GPS location information, switches into or turns into a bell mode assigned by a location mode, a movement mode, and a time mode automatically, and generates a bell signal by an event. A mobile communication system(120) connects with the MS within a service area, receives the GPS location information to transfer the GPS location information to an LBS(Located-Based Service) server and a VM(Virtual Machine)(160), and transmits a switching signal into the bell mode if the GPS location information is an area assigned from the VM, or the check signal of a movement state is applied. A server system analyzes the GPS location information provided from the MS through the mobile communication system, provides a LBS service, and checks whether the MS is positioned in a set virtual area or moves, and provides the location information to the mobile communication system.
