Foot for post, pole or pile

A circular fence post footing comprising a steel plate having a circular flat base and a vertical panel folded along one side of the base to form an "L" profile footing, a bendable tab formed in the side of the base opposite the panel by slots in the base, and apertures provided in each of the vertical panel, base and tab to facilitate nailing of the circular foot to the flat bottom and sides of a post. The circular foot further comprises a steel tongue pressed from the flat steel base of the foot which protrudes from the base of the vertical panel at an angle of 90 degrees. The circular foot further comprises large apertures in both the vertical and horizontal surfaces of the foot to allow the retaining material to pass through the foot and securely engage the foot. In use a 360 degree engagement with the retaining material in which the post is embedded is provided.
