Static diffusion cell for diffusion sampling systems

A static diffusion cell (400) for use in a diffusion sampling apparatus is disclosed. The cell has a single chamber receptor compartment (402) with first and second outlets (408, 418) formed at the top surface of the receptor compartment, and a diffusion membrane (404) and donor compartment (410) are positioned over the first outlet. The second outlet forms a bubble trap and sampling arm (406). To facilitate the removal of bubbles the top surface of the receptor compartment may be inclined upward towards the second outlet, and/or there may be a bubble channel extending between the two outlets.
