Disclosed is a compound of formula I, wherein A is optionally substituted arylene or optionally substituted heteroarylene, E is N or C and the remaining substituents are as defined in the specification. The compounds are 5-HT6 agonists useful in the treatment of central nervous system disorders and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
