The unit (1) has a sliding throttle-chamber (2) with a part (8) controlling fluid communication of a radial outlet opening (6) with a distribution chamber (3), and another part (9) controlling the fluid communication of an axial outlet opening (5) with the chamber (3). The parts are linked together by a driving link in translation with a dead or non-driving area between two extreme translation positions of the throttle-chamber. The opening (6) stays released and another radial outlet opening is blocked, when the opening (5) is released. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a valve unit (2) a cooling circuit with a radial outlet opening fluidly connected to a by-pass circuit.
