Polymorph of {6,7-Bis(2-methoxy-ethoxy)-quinazolin-4-yl}-(3e)

Disclosed is a crystalline polymorph of [6,7-Bis(2-methoxy-ethoxy)-quinazolin-4-yl]-(3-ethynyl-phenyl)amine hydrochloride of formula (I). Also disclosed is a process for preparing the polymorph. The polymorph is useful in the treatment of hyperproliferative disorders such as cancers, and is thermodynamically more stable than the known polymorph A and exhibits a better solubility and dissolution rate than the known polymorph B.
