Oxazolidinone and/or isoxazoline derivatives as antibacterial agents

Disclosed is a class of bi-aryl antibiotic compounds of formula (I) containing two substituted oxazolidinone and/or isoxazoline rings which have useful activity against Gram-positive pathogens including MRSA and MRCNS, pharmaceutically acceptable salts, or in-vivo hydrolysable esters thereof. Methods for making the compounds of formula (I), compositions containing them and their use as antibacterial agents are also described.
