A flexible guard for a musical instrument, the guard being formed from a flexible significantly heat insulating material and having a pair of sides sloping towards one another to give the guard a generally conical or generally pyramidal shape, the guard substantially encapsulating the instrument. The guard has a first end and a second end, the first end being open to allow the instrument to be removed from the guard when desired, the second end being opposite the first end and closed, the first end being substantially wider than the second end.
