The machine (1) has a channel (2) with an inverted U shaped section, where the channel is delimited by a horizontal part (21) and vertical walls (22). The part (21) is arranged such that a part to be machined is fixed below a floor (211) of the part (21). A mobile machining head (31) is mounted on a mobile carriage (3) that is displaced in a longitudinal direction of the channel by being supported on guiding rails (221) integrated to the walls (22). The length of the channel is greater than that of the part for permitting displacement of the carriage outside a machining zone. An independent claim is also included for a machining center comprising machine tools.
